Giro Del Mondo - A cycling journey through Europe

We are three enthusiastic Scottish and Hungarian roadies touring across Europe making the most of our time post-graduation. With one of us having previous touring experience, exciting and interesting journeys cycling across New Zealand, Japan and most notably from Scotland to southern Italy managed to persuade the others to do something similar. We all know each other through studying Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering at the University of Glasgow and thought this trip would be the perfect way to say our goodbyes after five years together before parting in our different directions.
Training for this Budapest to Barcelona Trans Europe cycling trip followed Scotland’s most rural North Coast 500 route in the Highlands. This provided some of the most challenging riding conditions imaginable, perfect for the not so small task of conquering the Austrian, Swiss and Italian Alps as well as the Spanish and French Pyrenees. Some of Europe’s largest mountain passes are on the near horizon.
Our journey set off on the 14th of July when we will all meet in Hungary. After a couple days of visiting as many of the local sightseeing and culinary spots as we can, we will set of towards the West and make our way to Vienna. We plan to spend a couple days in the bigger cities that come our way throughout our journey. You can take a look at the cities that we will be visiting here:
Besides cycling we all love meeting likeminded people and discovering new experiences so we thought this would be an unbelievable opportunity to do so. If you are interested in hearing more about us please follow our journey through the news tab which will be presented in a blog format. We welcome any interesting spots locations that you would recommend for us to check out, so please get in touch with us!
