The beginning of the Journey (now for real) - Tuesday

Tuesday After a one day delay, we finally ventured off into the wilderness... where after 100 metres a chain came off and a pannier system failed. However, this did not deter Giro Del Mondo's falsely placed confidence and belief. With this high flying optimism, the team proceeded to challenge Europe through the scorching heat. At lunch the team relaxed at a lake-side resort at lake Balaton and went for a dip. Three hours later... we were back on the bikes and heading towards Bakonybel where instead of facing the motorway, it was decided to take on the Hungarian military by cycling through one of their prohibited facilities (Area 51). Giro del Mondo confirmed the latter with an officer, but he said we could try... We had to traverse minefields and sneak behind tanks. Once this was complete we then had to take on the Hungarian Highlands which nearly killed the Black Mamba, but wells of replenishment saved him from absolute capitulation. The team then took homage in a Transylvanian home where we were delighted by the hospitality and food. Surprise surprise, more palinka was consumed, however this time it was actually palinka and not cooking rum (rum plum cooking).
