Tuesday (continued): We then reached our final location of Gmunden to be graciously meeted by our hosts, Herta & Herbert. They made us a fantastic meal and lovely hospitality that was needed after the long 174 km day. Wednesday With the initial plan to cycle, Giro del Mondo awoke to torrential rain and exchanges of "sack that". Herta & Herbert where incredibly kind and offered further accommodation in light of this. To repay their generousity, we offered to make them dinner... ballocks. To our surprise, we pulled off a miracle and cooked some terrific typically British food. If that's even possible? The rain and the 12 degrees air tempterature didnt deter us from visiting the infamous, and almost 1000 year old Schloss on the lake, and to honour this historic place we have decided to jump off its wooden bridge into the lake and to swim with the swans. The choreographic swimming caused some confusion among the lines tourists but it was cherished by the castle's key holder. This was followed by a symphony of live Austrian folk music and numerous bottles of local wine and whiskey.
