From Munich in the direction of Zurich

We have set off from Munich in the morning towards Kempten, which promised to be a very challenging day. It did not fail the expectations, as we rode through the 140 km journey, in the record breaking 37 degree C Saharan heat. We have faced the difficulties of the Coffee Monster's (Chris) deformed tire, an overheated phone, a last minute sprint race against an approaching storm, a felled tree on the road, but our bad luck was balanced out by the beautiful farmlands, the determination to cross the 1000 km line of our journey and our desperation to not to get soaked again. On our way we have also met a fellow touring team from Slovakia, who were riding in the opposite direction, from Paris to Bratislava, and who happened to make a stop and the infamous grocery store in Kempten, where we stopped by as well. Our meeting with them reassured us in our belief that Gnocchi is the fuel for cyclist. After the storm has settled, we were welcomed by our warmshowers host Maja and her family, and slept well in their house in hammocks, while thunders were rumbling above our heads.
