The team left Kempten quite late, knowing that the road to Konstanz will be an easy one. Descending 900 meters and only 110 kms. Well we have never been so wrong. Google decided to show us every single south German farm with their authentic smell of crap. We have seen cow farms, pig farms, sheep farms, apple farms, hop plantations, grape plantations, cucumber plantations.. so everything. This farm life and supposedly the lack of the mildness of the Scottish summer has wrecked the Coffee Monster so badly, that we have contemplated putting him on a bus to Zurich. He insisted that he can power on, so we did. Nevertheless it was a valiant effort on his behalf. We have eventually made our way Konstanz, for which we had to take our first mode of public transport, and take the ferry to the other side of Bodensee. It was an amazing experience to finally ride in good conditions, cooled by the cold breeze coming from the direction of the lake. As we arrived to our destination, the coffee monster fell off his bike of exhaustion, he was probably coming down with something or tired of navigating and in general listening to our shit chat, and has given orders to the Mamba and Cherri to identify the house where he can rest for the night. As Cherri and the Mamba explored the area they have gotten to the dire conclusion that we have managed to cycle past our location, by a mile. We were unsure how to communicate this fact with the half dead man lying in the soft, green German grass.
So we just told him.
Eventually we have arrived to our hosts who were extremely welcoming and allowed us to stay in their attic for the night. And later on gave us shelter and food for another one.
While Daddy longlegs was recovering the next day, and preparing for his birthday, Captain Cherri and the Mamba decided to help our kind hosts on their farm and made sure that this years cucumber harvest doesn't go to waste. We have Picked Cucumbers. Packaged cucumbers. Branded Cucumbers. Took the Cucumbers to the warehouse. And finally, but not last ate the cucumbers.
In the evening Chris was awarded a birthday keg, in order to restore his stamina to the max and we inspected our host's high flying kite creations.
The next morning we we ready, full of energy and motivation to cycle the 80 kms which was still standing between us and Zurich. Well, we have managed to cycle 12, and decided to call it a day and stay an extra day in Konstanz, as the mediterranean climate is rumoured to be very beneficial in aiding recovery. Cpt Cherri also bought a new phone, his 3rd phone for this trip...
The evening was spent in the local Paradise district and strand bar, and ended up in the Kantine club, where we have wrecked the dance floor with some moves we didn't event know we could pull off. Meanwhile Cherri and the Mambe performed their notorious dirty dancing lift. Not to mention, this only resulted in the concerning look of a bouncer and a short wave of applause from the local, and totally wrecked audience.
